Marsh Grazing is named for a group of doe whitetail deer that liked to graze at this site. They were used to seeing people on the walking/biking trails nearby, but with the ground consistently waterlogged (it was a natural drainage area), no hiker would venture down to bother them, much less spot them. Until me, anyway... the lead doe was not pleased. Stomping, huffing, even dashing off with no warning to entice me to chase - nothing worked. Turning my head and ignoring her, I was an utter failure as a predator. Thirty minutes later, they were grazing twenty feet behind me, completely unperturbed with my being there.
